Sunnyvale Poverty Simulation

January 11, 2020 @ 8:30AM — 1:00PM

Homelessness is an experience, not an identity. Downtown Streets Team's Poverty Simulation helps participants begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month-to-month. Event sponsored by Leadership Sunnyvale and Sunnyvale Community Services. FREE TO THE COMMUNITY

Please join Leadership Sunnyvale and Sunnyvale Community Services on Saturday, January 11th for an eye-opening experience that will provide you with a unique (and at times stressful) "day in the life" of someone living on low-income. Each person will face many challenges and make hard decisions, such as meeting their basic needs, finding and maintaining employment, navigating transportation and health needs, as well as ensuring your family has a stable home life. We cannot solve homelessness until we change perceptions about the people who are experiencing it. It may even inspire someone to help get involved, and do their part to help someone in need. This is a FREE event!

Registration begins at 8:30 am (light breakfast and refreshments will be provided)

Simulation begins at 9 am

Following the Simulation and small group debrief, lunch will be served.
